Creating functional design plans for institutional facilities

Logos Academy

Logos academy is a private, gospel-centered, intercultural, classical school that has been providing education to students in York, Pennsylvania since 1998. In mid-2009, The City of York approved plans for a new school for Logos that allowed consolidation of the school’s existing operations, which have been located within two local churches in downtown York. Plans included re-development of the dilapidated former recycling center site for the new two story, 42,000 s.f. school, along with a new public street, parking facilities and innovative stormwater management measures.

Helen Thackston Charter School

This 17,000 s.f. building addition breathed new life into an existing facility that may otherwise have fallen into a depressed city property. The project involved acquisition of adjacent properties to make way for the expansion including new classrooms, library, offices and gymnasium. On and off-site parking facilities were provided, as well as stormwater management facilities incorporating rain gardens and underground storage.

Dallastown Area School District – Ore Valley

Project included surveying and preparation of a master plan for the 15 acre Ore Valley Elementary School site required for the design of Township mandated stormwater management facilities associated with improvements that were part of the elimination of portable classrooms no longer needed by the School. A large paved area for playground use and overflow parking was constructed as part of this design that included underground stormwater management facilities and erosion control measures.

Renovations to the existing track and infield including restoration of the cinder track as well as the bituminous high jump pad and long jump runway. The infield was excavated and re-graded to provide improved drainage, topsoil was replenished and an upgraded turf seed mix was installed. The 4 acre project also included installation of a new hydrant system for watering the field and new goal posts.
