The Pappus House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing end-of-life care to those in need. As the organization grew, they recently acquired and redeveloped a property in Thomasville to be the new home of the organization. As a part of their vision for the campus, they sought advice on the professional masterplanning for their new home.

After an initial site visit, SDC hosted a design charrette with the Pappus Team to develop the schematic program for the campus. This eventually led to the completion of a full campus masterplan which included gathering areas, a variety of walking paths, a family play zone, and intimate gathering area for quiet reflection featuring Gazebos and shade structures to serve residents’ families. The plan prioritized native plants to the greatest extent possible and emphasized mature tree planting to maximize immediate impact.

Please one included the construction of intimate garden spaces and landscape improvements surrounding the primary campus facility. SDC was available throughout construction to compete plant stake-out and construction administration services. The next phase of planning and construction is expected to begin in Spring of 2024.
