This commercial/retail site posed numerous design and engineering challenges, including zoning approvals, abandonment of a public road, installation of a new municipal well/water supply, significant site grading, and the relocation of an existing stream.
Project site improvements included access and parking facilities with 550 spaces, construction of stormwater collection, conveyance, and detention/ infiltration systems, BMP measures, landscaped buffer yards and streetscapes, and connections to existing utilities located on, or adjacent to the site. Widening and construction of turning lanes, the addition of a box culvert on Mt. Airy Road, as well as intersection improvements at Forrest Ave. were also completed.
