SDC provided planning, engineering, and design services for a Hardscape and Plaza Addition at the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The project focused on an approximately 0.90-acre area of the campus to create a new 10,000-square-foot pedestrian plaza designed to support large events and gatherings.

Improvements included new pedestrian walkways, a proposed stage, shade structures, intimate seating area with firepit, enclosure of an existing Quonset hut into a native landscape palette. SDC coordinated with multiple subconsultants to support utility design, technical specifications, and structural and architectural considerations.

The plaza will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army and provide permanent gatherings space on campus for years to come.
